01. Scope and privacy contact
This Privacy Policy explains the information used by the Mewii application, its communication, sharing, games and AI features, and this presentation website. It distinguishes information you choose to share with other people from information needed to operate your account and the service.
For privacy questions, requests relating to your information or a concern about another person’s data, contact Mewii@outlook.com. You can also use the in-app feedback and reporting controls. Do not include passwords, sign-in codes or unnecessary sensitive information in a request.
02. Account, profile and sign-in information
When you register or sign in, the service processes the login identifiers you use, such as an email address, phone number or Apple account identifier; verification and authentication results; your Mewii ID; profile name, optional surname, gender selection and profile photo; and preferences such as application language, playback settings and privacy choices.
Apple sign-in can provide the identifier, name and email that Apple makes available for that authorization. If you choose Apple’s email-relay option, the relay address may be used. We do not receive your Apple account password. Where password sign-in is available, passwords are verified using protected password representations, not published as profile information.
Account and session information is used to authenticate you, recover access, associate your content and purchases with the correct account, synchronize preferences and prevent unauthorized use. Your profile name, photo and identifiers may be visible to people who can find or interact with you through the relevant account and relationship controls.
03. Contacts, friendships and groups
If you choose to find friends using your device contacts and grant access, the application reads contact names and phone numbers to show the selection and normalize numbers on your device. The matching request sends derived phone-number hashes to the service rather than the entire address book with contact names. These hashes can still relate to identifiable people and should not be treated as anonymous data.
The service also processes friend searches and requests, relationship status, nicknames, blocked accounts, invitations, group identifiers, membership and roles. These support discovery, invitations, access controls and conversation delivery. Granting contact permission alone is not permission to send invitations to everyone in your address book.
Other users can provide information involving you, for example by sending a friend request, inviting you to a group, mentioning you, sharing your contact card or reporting an interaction. We use that information for the corresponding feature and safety review; you can contact us about misuse.
04. Messages, media and shared moments
The service processes the text, voice recordings, photos, videos, files, stickers, reactions, contact cards and location messages you send. It also processes conversation membership, sender and recipient identifiers, timestamps, delivery and read information, playback progress and relevant media metadata, such as file type, size and duration.
For Moments, we process the video and caption you share, your chosen friends or groups, topic associations, comments, likes and viewing information. Audience and current membership controls determine access. The author can access the relevant viewing list; it is not presented as a public list to every viewer.
Content is processed to upload, deliver, display and play it for the intended recipients, maintain conversation continuity, apply access changes and handle reports. Mewii is not described as an end-to-end encrypted messaging service. Service-controlled access is different from a guarantee that only the communicating users could ever access content.
Recipients can independently save, screenshot or share content. Clearing your own conversation history does not clear another person’s history. Removing access cannot recall a copy already obtained independently.
05. Calls, voice effects and Live Place
Voice and video communication uses your microphone and, for video, camera. The communication service processes the audio or video stream and connection information needed to establish and maintain the session. Mewii processes participants, invitations, acceptance and connection state, timestamps, duration and the information needed for any displayed call charge.
Live Place uses participation and invitation information, voice settings, shared-space configuration and connection state. If an in-app screen-sharing feature is available and you start it, the content covered by that feature is transmitted to the space participants. Review the sharing indicator and stop sharing before displaying information you do not wish others to see.
Supported effects on recorded voice messages are rendered on your device before upload; the resulting recording is then processed as message content. Displaying a voice catalogue does not mean every live voice effect is supported on every call. Do not treat a changed voice as a reliable way to conceal identity. This notice does not authorize recording other participants without the consent required by law.
06. Optional location sharing
Location sharing is off by default. If you enable it, the application processes the location coordinates, reported accuracy and update information needed to share your position with all friends or selected friends under the choice you make. This feature updates while Mewii is open; it does not request continuous background-location access.
You can select Nobody in the location-sharing settings, change the selected friends or revoke the device permission. Separately, sending a location card in a conversation shares the location in that message with its recipients. Turning off ongoing sharing does not delete previously sent location messages or copies saved by recipients.
07. AI conversations and speech features
When you use Mewii AI, the service processes your prompts, the conversation context needed for the request, the selected character or scenario, generated replies, response status and feedback. Sending a voice message for AI processing can involve uploading the recording and producing a transcription; speech output involves processing the response text to generate audio.
The relevant inputs and context are sent to the AI or speech services used to provide the feature. They are not kept solely on your device. Do not enter another person’s confidential information or sensitive personal, financial, health or account information. A generated response may contain inaccurate statements about a person; you can report concerns using the contact below.
AI conversation features do not by themselves establish a professional relationship or a confidential professional channel. Choosing a character or roleplay does not change these data-handling considerations. You may stop a response and provide feedback, but stopping the screen display does not necessarily undo processing already performed.
08. Games, coins and transactions
Games can process the selected game, local progress, scores, match state, player identifiers, invitations, actions and results. Solo progress may be kept on the device; friend matches use service information to connect participants and synchronize the relevant state.
For coins, gifts and paid features, the service processes product and transaction identifiers, the account associated with a purchase, amounts and currency where applicable, credit and debit entries, gift recipients and delivery state, and purchase or reconciliation status. These records support delivery, duplicate-charge prevention, balance accuracy, refunds, dispute handling and financial obligations.
Apple processes payment details for its purchase flow. Mewii does not receive the complete payment-card number from that flow. Include a transaction reference, not complete payment credentials, when asking about a missing credit.
09. Technical information and support
The service processes IP and request information, device or installation identifiers when registered, application and device information supplied with a request, language, authentication and security events, delivery and connection errors, and support or report information you submit. A push token may be processed if push notifications are enabled and you register the device for them.
We use this information to operate the service, diagnose failures, secure accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, deliver enabled notifications, investigate reports and answer requests. A report may include content or context provided by the reporting user and relevant records needed to assess the concern.
Do not include more personal information in a support request than necessary. If a security or rights request requires identity verification, the information requested should be proportionate to the account relationship and the risk of the request.
10. Purposes and legal grounds
Where a legal basis is required, account management, message delivery, requested calls, AI requests, purchases and other features you choose are processed as necessary to provide the requested service and perform the relevant contract. Optional permissions and processing that require consent rely on your valid choice, which you may withdraw without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Security, fraud prevention, abuse handling and proportionate service diagnostics may rely on legitimate interests where that basis is available and those interests are not overridden by your rights. Accounting, compliance with lawful requests and other mandatory processing may rely on a legal obligation. We do not treat agreement to the Terms as consent for unrelated processing.
Some information is necessary for a requested feature: without a valid sign-in identifier we cannot authenticate the corresponding login, without message content we cannot deliver that message, and without microphone access you cannot record voice input. You can decline optional features and use other available parts of the application.
11. Who receives information
People you communicate with receive the content and profile information relevant to that interaction. Group participants, invited players and the selected audience of a moment or location share receive the information needed for that feature. Audience controls do not prevent recipients from independently copying content.
Service providers receive information necessary for the tasks they perform for Mewii, such as hosting and media delivery, authentication messages, real-time communication, AI and speech processing, technical support and security. Their access should be limited to the relevant service purpose and applicable contractual or legal duties. Apple also processes information independently for Apple sign-in, the App Store and payments under its own policies.
Information may be disclosed where legally required, to protect people and the service against a substantiated threat, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. A corporate or service transfer must remain subject to applicable data-protection requirements. A link to another service does not bring that service’s independent practices within this Policy.
12. Device permissions and local controls
Camera access supports taking photos, recording moments, video calls and scanning supported invitations. Microphone access supports voice messages, calls and speech input. The system photo picker lets you select media without giving Mewii unrestricted access to the entire photo library. Contact and location access support the optional discovery and sharing features described above.
Notification permission controls system alerts; Focus-status access can pause voice-message autoplay under your chosen setting. Availability depends on the device and enabled service. Manage these permissions in iOS Settings, and manage autoplay, location audiences, blocked users and language inside Mewii.
Authentication tokens use protected device storage. Drafts, settings, cached media, downloaded game and animation resources, and local game progress may also be stored on the device. Clearing cache is different from deleting server-side content or closing the account.
13. This website and browser storage
The supplied website serves its own images, fonts and interface scripts. Its language switch follows links between pages. The gallery preview and topic controls operate in the browser and do not access the camera, microphone, contacts or location. The site code does not set advertising or analytics cookies or use local storage to track visitors.
The web server necessarily receives connection and request information to deliver the pages and protect the site. Opening a mail link uses your chosen mail application; an email is not sent merely by clicking the link. Following an external link places your interaction with that service under its own notice.
If tracking, analytics, advertising or additional embedded services are introduced, the relevant notice and any legally required choice must be provided before the new processing starts.
14. Security and account deletion
Mewii uses transport protection, authentication, access checks and account or audience controls to protect the service. Access links to private media are controlled and can expire. No system can guarantee absolute security, and a signed media link or an encoded API field is not a guarantee of end-to-end encryption or anonymity.
You can edit available profile information, adjust audiences, block or report users, and request account deletion in Settings, Profile, Delete account. Identity verification protects against unauthorized deletion. Once accepted, deletion revokes account access and starts the removal of profile information, uploaded media and associated content through the service’s deletion process. If you cannot sign in, use the contact email for assistance.
Uninstalling the app or clearing the cache does not delete the account. Requests may be subject to legal duties and the rights of other people; deletion also cannot remove copies that recipients independently obtained. We will explain a lawful limitation that applies to your request rather than treating a deletion request as an automatic waiver of your rights.
15. Your privacy rights and complaints
Depending on the law applicable to you, you may request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, information about sharing, withdrawal of consent or objection to processing. You may also have rights concerning decisions made solely by automated processing that significantly affect you. Producing an AI chat response is not in itself a decision about your eligibility for a loan, job or other important entitlement.
Send your request to Mewii@outlook.com and state the right you wish to exercise, the account involved and the information needed to locate the issue. We may verify identity proportionately and protect other people’s information. Requests are ordinarily handled without charge; any permitted exception must be explained. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, and explain a permitted extension or refusal and available remedies.
If the GDPR applies, the ordinary response period is one month; an extension of up to two additional months may be available for a complex or numerous request, with reasons notified within the initial month. You may complain to your competent data-protection authority, including Portugal’s CNPD where relevant. If Brazilian data-protection law applies, you may exercise the rights it provides and contact the ANPD. You do not have to give up a complaint or court remedy by contacting us first.
16. Children, sensitive information and changes
Use of Mewii must satisfy the age and capacity requirements applicable to the service and the user. We do not treat a store age rating or a device permission as proof of legally valid consent. If you believe a child has provided information without the authorization required by law, contact us with the minimum details needed to investigate.
Avoid submitting sensitive information about yourself or other people in profiles, messages, AI prompts or reports unless it is necessary and you have a lawful basis to do so. Parents or guardians may contact us about a child’s account, subject to appropriate verification and the child’s rights.
The date and version at the top identify this Policy. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate website or in-app notice, and renewed consent will be sought where required. A future policy update does not retroactively authorize a new use that requires separate consent. The contact for this Policy is Mewii@outlook.com.
