mewii01. Scope and acceptance
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the Mewii application, its communication and digital services, and this website. “Mewii”, “we” and “our” refer to the service; “you” means the person using it. Read these Terms together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines linked below.
Where the application asks you to accept a version of these Terms, review it before agreeing. Device permissions, optional data processing and paid transactions have their own controls; accepting these Terms does not authorize every permission, purchase or use of your data. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the affected service.
This website describes the application. Viewing a screenshot, selecting a topic or opening an image on the website does not start a call, record audio, send a message, run an AI conversation or make a purchase.
02. Eligibility and account security
You must satisfy the minimum age, legal capacity and other eligibility requirements applicable to the service and your place of residence. An App Store age rating is not a substitute for those requirements. Where a parent or guardian’s valid authorization is required, obtain it before using the service; authorization cannot override a legal prohibition on use.
Provide accurate account information and use only email addresses, phone numbers and sign-in identities that you are entitled to use. Apple sign-in and other methods depend on their availability. Do not impersonate another person, sell or lend your account, bypass restrictions, or share sign-in codes, passwords or session credentials.
You are responsible for use that you authorize. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. We may require proportionate verification before restoring access, changing sensitive account details, processing deletion or handling a security complaint. Do not send us your password or verification code.
03. Features, permissions and availability
Mewii brings together contacts, individual and group conversations, text and voice messages, media and file sharing, voice and video calls, Live Place voice spaces, voice effects, shared moments, location sharing, casual games, animated stickers, gifts, a coin wallet and Mewii AI. The features actually available are those enabled in your application and account at the time of use. A website description is not a promise that every feature is available on every device or in every region.
Camera, microphone, contacts, photos, location, Focus status and notification permissions are requested for the features that use them. You can manage permissions in device settings. Refusing an optional permission does not by itself prevent you from using unrelated features. Connectivity, device compatibility, third-party services and maintenance can affect availability.
Voice effects can alter how a recording sounds. They do not establish identity or guarantee anonymity. Obtain any consent required before recording or sharing another person’s voice, image, conversation or location. Mewii calls and AI conversations are not emergency services; use the emergency service available where you are in an emergency.
04. Respectful and lawful use
Respect other users’ privacy, boundaries and choices. Do not send or distribute illegal content, child sexual abuse or exploitation material, non-consensual intimate content, threats, targeted harassment, hate speech, scams, deceptive impersonation or content that encourages violence or unlawful activity. Do not publish someone else’s private information without lawful authority.
Do not use voice filters, AI characters or generated media to defraud, exploit or deceptively impersonate others. Do not upload content you are not entitled to use, infringe intellectual property, send spam, distribute malware, interfere with accounts or networks, manipulate coin balances or transaction records, automate abusive requests, or exploit games or payment systems.
These rules apply to usernames, profile photos, messages, calls, groups, shared moments, comments, game interactions, invitations, AI inputs and AI-generated content that you choose to distribute. Blocking, reporting and audience controls are available in the relevant parts of the application.
05. Your content and the service license
You retain the rights you hold in your content. You must have the rights, permissions and lawful basis needed to upload and share it, including any rights relating to other people’s personal data, image or voice. Other users retain their own rights.
To operate the features you choose, you grant Mewii a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, copy, technically adapt, encode, transmit and display your content to the intended recipients, and to have service providers perform those operations for us. This permission is limited to delivering, securing and supporting the service; it does not transfer ownership or give us a general right to sell your content or use your identity to endorse advertising.
Removing content or closing an account ends this permission for future service use of that content, except to the extent necessary to complete deletion, meet legal duties or address a dispute. Copies independently saved or lawfully shared by recipients are outside the application’s deletion controls. We do not promise that an AI output is unique or that every output can be protected by intellectual-property rights.
06. Conversations, groups and shared moments
Choose recipients and group memberships carefully. Group roles affect who can invite members, change group settings or manage access. People who can access a conversation or shared moment may read, listen to, view, save or independently share what they receive. Do not share sensitive information merely because a conversation appears private.
Clearing your chat history removes it from your view; it does not by itself clear another participant’s history. Removing a friend does not automatically erase existing conversations. Blocking limits future interactions but cannot recall a file or screenshot already obtained by another person.
Moments and location sharing use audience controls. Review those controls when sharing, changing group membership or removing friends. A recipient who still has access through another selected group or audience may remain entitled to view content. Turning location sharing off stops further sharing through that feature but cannot retract previously sent location messages.
07. Mewii AI, voice and generated responses
Mewii AI is an artificial-intelligence service, not a person. It can provide conversational and creative responses, discuss everyday questions, suggest ideas, and support characters and roleplay. Depending on availability, voice input may be transcribed and responses may be converted to speech. AI requests and the conversation context needed to answer them are processed by the service and its AI or speech providers.
Responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, unsuitable or out of date. Check important information independently. AI does not replace professional medical, legal, financial, educational or mental-health advice, does not establish a professional relationship and is not a crisis or emergency service. Do not use it as the sole basis for decisions that materially affect a person’s rights, health, safety or opportunities.
Do not submit passwords, payment credentials, identity documents or sensitive personal information about yourself or others. Respect academic integrity, privacy and intellectual property. You remain responsible for reviewing an output before acting on it or sharing it. You can stop a response and use the available feedback controls; interruption does not necessarily reverse processing already performed.
08. Coins, gifts and paid features
Mewii coins are digital units usable only for eligible features inside Mewii. They are not money, a bank balance, an investment or a cryptocurrency. They cannot be withdrawn, redeemed for cash or sold outside the service. A gift is an in-app digital effect or interaction; receiving a gift does not create a right to payment.
Some gifts are free and others cost different amounts of coins. The application shows the applicable price before you confirm. Paid calls or other coin-based features must show their charging terms before you start. Where voice-call billing is enabled, the caller pays under the displayed rate and billing increments; waiting alone for an unanswered call does not by itself trigger a connected-call charge.
Recharge purchases on iOS are processed through Apple’s in-app purchase flow. The price and currency shown in Apple’s purchase confirmation apply. Mewii receives transaction information needed to validate or reconcile the purchase and credit the correct account; it does not receive your complete card details. A pending, cancelled or failed purchase does not establish a completed recharge.
A completed store purchase may need to be reconciled before coins appear in the wallet. Use the retry or support options if credit is delayed; do not make another purchase merely to resolve a missing credit. Keep your transaction reference and use the Mewii account associated with the purchase. Correctly processed duplicate transaction reports do not create duplicate credits.
Refunds and withdrawal rights are governed by applicable law and the store’s procedures. For Apple purchases, use reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple; contact us for missing coins or a service issue. These Terms do not make all digital purchases non-refundable or treat acceptance as a blanket waiver of withdrawal rights. Any loss of a withdrawal right for immediately supplied digital content requires the consent and acknowledgment required by law. Reversed or refunded purchases may require adjustment of the corresponding unused entitlement, subject to your legal rights.
09. Games and third-party services
Games may offer solo play, play on the same device or friend matches according to the game and the current service. Do not treat a displayed invitation as confirmation that another player has joined. Connectivity or session changes may interrupt a match; we do not guarantee a particular score, result, reward or uninterrupted competitive session.
Some game progress and downloaded resources are stored on your device. Clearing application data, deleting the application or changing devices may remove progress that has not been synchronized. Games and virtual gifts do not offer cash prizes or cash-out rights under these Terms.
Apple, communication services, AI providers and other external services may have their own terms and privacy notices. You must also comply with applicable carrier and third-party terms. Links to an external website do not make us responsible for that website’s independent content or transactions.
10. Reports, safety measures and review
Use the in-app report and block controls, or email us, to report abusive content, an account problem or a rights violation. Identify the relevant account or content, explain the concern and include only information needed to investigate. Do not send illegal content itself when a description or reference is sufficient.
To address a breach, fraud, a security risk or a legal obligation, we may remove or restrict content, limit features, suspend access or close an account. Measures should reflect the seriousness, reliability and context of the issue. Where required by law, we provide reasons, notice and an opportunity to seek review; immediate protective action may be necessary in urgent cases.
You may dispute a restriction or submit an intellectual-property complaint by emailing the contact below with the relevant reference and supporting explanation. We may request proportionate evidence, and will consider the circumstances and applicable law. No provision permits us to confiscate paid entitlements or refuse mandatory consumer remedies arbitrarily.
11. Closing your account and changes to the service
You may stop using Mewii at any time. Uninstalling the application does not delete your account. To request account deletion, open Settings, Profile, Delete account in the application and complete the identity-verification steps. If you cannot access the account, contact us for assistance.
Account deletion revokes access and starts the account-deletion process. Download or save information you are entitled to keep before requesting deletion. Deletion does not automatically cancel a separate store-managed entitlement, undo completed transactions or recall copies independently held by recipients. Mandatory refund and data-protection rights remain unaffected.
We may maintain, update or change the service for security, technical, legal or operational reasons. Where a change materially affects a paid service or a change or discontinuation requires notice, consent, an alternative remedy or a refund by law, we will follow those requirements. New material Terms will be identified and renewed acceptance requested where necessary; they do not retrospectively remove accrued mandatory rights.
12. Application license and Apple
For an application obtained from Apple, the application license is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement where applicable, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. These service Terms do not purport to replace it with a custom Apple EULA or override the Apple Media Services usage rules.
Mewii is responsible for its service, content and support. Apple is not a party to these service Terms and does not undertake to provide Mewii support. Apple’s store terms, applicable warranties and purchase-refund procedures continue to apply. Comply with applicable export, sanctions and third-party usage rules. Open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses.
13. Responsibility, consumer rights and disputes
Use reasonable care when communicating, sharing content or relying on information. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free third-party content or accurate AI outputs. This does not exclude a legal obligation to provide a conforming paid digital service or to remedy a defect.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or injury where exclusion is prohibited. Mandatory consumer guarantees, withdrawal and refund rights, and data-protection rights remain available. There is no blanket liability cap or requirement that you indemnify us for every claim.
Contact us first if you wish to seek an informal resolution. You retain any right to bring a complaint to a competent regulator, consumer body, dispute-resolution service or court. These Terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, waive collective or individual remedies, or require consumers to litigate exclusively in a foreign country. Mandatory protections applicable to you prevail over conflicting terms.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply so far as the law allows. A failure to enforce a provision immediately is not a waiver. The English and European Portuguese versions are intended to have the same effect; no language-priority rule deprives you of a protection required by law.
